About me

Handmade Knives South Africa by Louis Naude

The Good Book. Family. Hunting. Fishing. Cooking and Eating. Outdoors. Westerns. Old cars. Trucks. Knives.........that's pretty much it. - Louis Naude.

On the Blog is some of my older, popular knives with new finishes and some brand new knives as well. Over time one tends to approach design, materials and purposes differently.

Some of the photographs don't do the knives justice. I guess it was because the photographs where taken in a hurry in order to send so that the client could have his knives in time.

As a boy I really favoured the Puma hunting and folding knives. I still have my old Schrade lb 7 that I have carried with me for years. It has a Louis Naude blade now. The original blade served me well and the knife now rests among my other treasured items. My dad had a Case sodbuster which I was also impressed with as a boy and I guess because of that I made quite a few myself which found good homes with Custom Knife collectors. Then there was the lambs foot Joseph Rodgers that resembles mine in a way. I call it "Uncle Joseph". They are very popular. I also use those exceptional pieces of handle material that are too small to fit onto a larger knife.
